Parents Day was different this year as everyone needed to follow health and social distancing measures. Parents were invited to speak to their children’s class teachers on academic and overall performance. It was also an opportunity to talk about the Secondary School Place Allocation (SSPA) and its implications among P6 parents. The meetings were done with everyone’s comfort from the students and parents’ perspective. All the parents discussed frankly and freely with the class teachers to enhance students’ achievement.
For Primary one to five parents, they had the new experience of zoom meetings with their children’s class teachers. Both sides were able to raise and discuss the progress of the students through the screen. At this important time, academic progress is upper most in everyone’s minds and any concerns could be voiced and plans were put into place. Students’ behaviour was also addressed with positive opinions.
